Beijing Universal Resort
Universal Beijing resort, located in Tongzhou District, Beijing, adjacent to the East Sixth Ring Road and Beijing Harbin expressway, is the third theme park in Asia and the fifth Universal Studios in the world. In 2001, the Beijing municipal government and the Universal Theme Park Resort Group signed a letter of intent. In 2015, the joint venture agreement was signed; In November of the same year, the construction of basic projects was started. On September 1, 2021, the trial operation will be started. On September 20, 2021, the park was officially opened to the public. The theme park of Universal Studios, two holiday hotels and Universal City Avenue in Beijing were officially opened to the public.
Beijing Universal resort includes seven theme scenic spots, 37 riding entertainment facilities and landmark scenic spots, 24 entertainment performances, 80 restaurants and 30 retail stores, with a total area of more than 4 square kilometers, and the first phase covers an area of 159.57 hectares; Phase II covers an area of 165.83 hectares. It is planned to build a theme park with Chinese elements and introduce Chinese culture, Monkey King and other IP; Phase III plans to build a water park.
